About Picture Book Studio

Paste in a story you wrote or a lesson text and every character is annotated with pinyin automatically. Upload your own photographs or drawings, choose a layout, and export a multi-page PDF that is ready to print and bind — annotation, polyphone correction, layout and paginated export all happen on one page, with no shuttling between programs. When a polyphone is resolved wrongly, click the character on the canvas to fix its reading and the change carries through to the exported PDF.

Three layouts

  • Text on its own page — the page is text, with the illustration reduced to a narrow band at the top. Best for longer passages and transitions between scenes.
  • Text on top of the illustration — the image bleeds across the whole page with the text floating above it on a translucent panel. Best for short lines and emotionally strong images.
  • Split page — image and text each take a band, and the ratio can be dragged straight on the preview. The most common layout in books for young children.

Export PDF downloads a real multi-page .pdf file rather than a print dialog for you to save yourself, and the text you type and the illustrations you upload never leave your device — the draft is stored only on your own device.
